SING FOR WATER was created to raise money for Water Projects through singing. So far the project has raised £220,000 for WaterAid projects in Africa and India. This year's UK events have raised over £40,000.
On September 16th at 2pm the sixth mass SING FOR WATER concert took place as part of the Thames Festival with a record 800 singers. Sponsorship money is still coming in but on the day an amazing £2900 was collected in the buckets.
Choirs and festivals around the UK and in France also organise their
own local SING FOR WATER events.
These play a vital role in raising funds to help those so depsarately in need
to clean safe water..
SING FOR WATER was recently awarded a President's Award by WaterAid for outstanding voluntary contriubution.

Seeing
clean water change lives
In October 2005 Helen Chadwick and Pauline Down visited
the Ghanaian WaterAid project SING FOR WATER supports. We visited the village
of Najore where most people had suffered from Guinea Worm and there was no
safe water to drink.
Since our visit a new bore hole has been built, see below. Many more villages
need our help.
